How-to: stay ahead of warranties

1. Record warrantyExpiry on your assets — during creation, on import (a warranty CSV column is picked up automatically), or by editing an asset in its detail panel.
2. Watch the dashboard. Any warranty inside 90 days appears in the Open items triage strip — one click drops you into AssetTrakr's Alerts view, pre-filtered.
3. Work the Alerts view. Each alert shows days remaining; open the asset, decide renew / replace / retire, and record the outcome (update the warranty date, or set status to retired).
4. Check Reports for the money view — depreciation and current value across the fleet, useful when arguing for a refresh budget.

Tip: the dashboard triage strip also flags offline assets and expiring credentials — the goal is that "all clear" on the dashboard genuinely means nothing needs a human today.
