Frequently asked questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days of the full platform, with nothing held back and no credit card required. After the trial, Layer8 is $29 CAD/month.
What happens when the trial ends?
If your subscription is not active, your account becomes read-only: you keep sign-in, full read access, and complete data export for 45 days. After 45 days the data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. We email you before the trial ends, when the account goes read-only, and again at 30, 7 and 1 days before deletion.
Can I start a second trial?
No — one trial per person. We keep a one-way hash of the email address used, so signing up again with the same address (including +tag and dot variants) does not start a new trial.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Toggle to annual billing above to get 2 months free on Pro ($290 CAD/yr) and Team ($1,490 CAD/yr). Annual plans are billed once per year with no monthly renewal.
What currency are prices in?
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Your card will be charged in CAD.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards via Polar. Bank transfers available for Team plan on request.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Your account becomes read-only and your data is retained for 45 days, during which you can still read and export all of it. After 45 days it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. That is separate from account deletion you request yourself, which we complete within 30 days.
